MORE INFO ON BECOMING A CTTC TESTING FAMILY!
So you're thinking of becoming a CTTC toy testing family? Read on!
The Canadian Toy Testing Council is a non-profit organization which is celebrating over 55+ years of learning through play.
We are always looking for families to test toys, software and evaluate books. While we have completed training of new families for this year, we are compiling a waiting list of potential new testing families. We are always looking for families with new babies.
First of all, if you wish to test, we need to know where you live (so we can determine if we have distributors in your area), how many children you have and their ages. Right now our testing families are in the Ottawa/Gatineau area where our Head Office is located.
The cycle is such that membership goes from beginning of the year to the end; if you are a new member, you will need to undergo toy testing training to learn how to observe and prepare your paperwork reports. Toys are then distributed as they come in, and we fit toys for testing to the appropriate ages of the children.
You do not get a choice of toys to test and toys are placed in your home for a 6-8 week period. It is very important to return your toy and paperwork to the distributor by the due date so we can do a timely evaluation. Of course, our results are accessible to everyone via our web site (www.toy-testing.org).
If you are in the Ottawa area and would like to test, please send your address so we can send you an application form, or download an application form (in Microsoft Word format), fill it out and mail it in.
Once you are confirmed to attend an orientation session, we do ask that you join the Council with a $30 yearly (administrative) membership that supports our work (cheque, VISA, Mastercard, PayPal accepted).
If you do not live in the Ottawa/Gatineau area, but still wish to support the CTTC's ongoing toy, software and book evaluation programs, you are invited to join as a supporting member.
