CTTC/Energizer Toy of the Year
IT'S
A TIE!
For
the first time, the Canadian Toy Testing Council has found two toys worthy
enough to be named Energizer Toy of the Year. One is a programmable dancing
robot and the other is a fast-thinking, hand-held, electronic problem-solving
game. Both are totally innovative and reflect the best in battery-operated play.

Robo cool! Kids are bowled over by
this 30 cm high remote-controlled robot in its trendy black-and-white manga stylings. The robot performs 64 different functions and can be programmed to follow a sequence of six. The unit walks forwards and backwards, turns, dances, picks things up with its three-fingered
"hand" and does a "high five." The robot is very stable, moves well on many surfaces, and has sensors in its fingers and feet in order to stop (as well as say "ouch") before it hits a wall. Children and adults alike laugh out loud at the robot's performances, and everyone is impressed by its fluid movements. NOTE: 4 "D" and 3 "AAA" batteries required; battery consumption surprisingly good for toy of this
size.

Start thinking! This small, sphere-like, handheld electronic version of the classic word game of twenty questions delights kids and adults alike. With an uncanny ability to guess what players are thinking--even when obscure or particular--this toy constantly amazes. Each quick-playing game involves players thinking of something and having the toy pose a series of questions as it tries to guess the answer. There is a digital read-out; the sound can be turned off. Great for travel! NOTE: 2 "AAA" batteries (included); good battery consumption.
