– October 23, 2006 – The Canadian Toy Testing Council
(CTTC) is presenting the top toys of the year on Thursday, November 2, 2006 at
10:30 a.m. at its new venue in the Brookstreet Hotel’s Ballroom, 525 Legget
Drive, Kanata, ON 613-271-3388.
The CTTC is a non-profit
organization with over 50 years’ experience of learning through play. The CTTC
is dedicated to testing toys and providing families with the information
necessary to make informed purchasing choices. “This year’s top picks reflect
stylin’ toys that provide substantive play for imaginative children,” says
Leigh Poirier, CTTC Executive Director.
Over 1,000 of the Council’s toy
experts – children – our dynamic testers, play all year round testing hundreds
of toys. The Council’s specially trained volunteer families evaluate and rate
toys for safety, design, function, battery consumption, durability, ease of
assembly and most importantly, play value.
The 2007 TOY REPORT, plus this
year’s CTTC Great Books for Children, will be made available on the CTTC’s
website at www.toy-testing.org as of November 2, 2006 at 10:30 a.m.
The testers will announce the
CTTC/ENERGIZER BATTERY-OPERATED TOY OF THE YEAR, the CHILDREN’S CHOICE and BEST
AWARDS as well as the GREAT BOOKS for children at this year’s National Media
Conference.
